Meet the Superintendent

Boone Central Community:

I am beyond excited to serve and lead as the Superintendent of Boone Central Schools.  I grew up in the small town of Alma, Nebraska where I was raised by a family of educators.  I was born a Cardinal and now I am a Boone Central Cardinal, which is great to be back in the Cardinal gear.  My parent’s jobs took us to Kearney when I was in the 6th grade where I proceeded to graduate from Kearney High in 2004. 

In college I graduated from UNK with a Bachelor of Science in K-12 Physical Education & 6-12 Business education.  After a couple years in the educational field I began on my masters and in 2017 graduated with my 7-12 Principalship from UNK.  Most recently I am finishing my Specialist degree and will graduate in August of 2023 from UNK.  

I started my educational journey at Riverside(formerly Cedar Rapids), as a  teacher & AD.  During my time there I wore many hats as a teacher, head coach, transportation director, assistant principal, etc.   Our next journey took us to Auburn Public Schools for 1 year where I served as the AD/AP.  Once we found out we were having twins we felt coming closer to family was a good choice for us.  For the next 4 years I served as the Pk-12 Principal of Axtell Community Schools.  This past year we found our way back to Boone County where I served as the High School Principal at Boone Central Schools. 

In December of 2022 I was selected to serve as the Superintendent of Boone Central Schools beginning with the 2023-2024 school year.  I am honored and humbled to get to serve such great communities and school district.  Also, I am excited to share my vision and lead in a positive way, which is #TheCardinalWay. 

A big part of my life is my family. During my time in college I met my lovely wife Katie Schwartz.  She is currently a nurse at the Boone County Hospital, which she truly enjoys.  We have grown to be a large family of 6 and have 4 boys.  Carter is going to be a 2nd grader at Boone Central and loves to do anything sports related.  Harvey & Henrik will be heading into their last year of preschool at Boone Central.  Cameron is our youngest and wants to do anything that his brothers take part in.  I am lucky to have such a great and supportive family.
